How it works

Idlewiseinstructs, never holdsYour current accountat your bankYour investment accountin your company’s namesweep-outsweep-inyour moneyIdlewise instructions

Money moves only between your company’s bank account and the fund house, over the mutual fund industry’s regulated transaction infrastructure. There is no Idlewise account it passes through, no pooling, no wallet. Units sit in your company’s own folio; redemptions settle only into your registered bank account.

If Idlewise were discontinued tomorrow, nothing would happen to your money. Your folios live at the fund houses and their registrars, not with us. You would redeem directly with the fund house, or through any other distributor, exactly as you could today.

Every movement is approved before it happens

Your finance teamproposes a sweep-inYour approversnamed by your boardapprovedMoney movesbetween your accountsrejected, nothing movesEvery proposal, approval and rejection is recorded with name, time and IP address.

Your finance team proposes a sweep-out or a sweep-in. It reaches the fund house only after the approvers your board named have signed off, at up to five levels plus a verifier. Finance operations propose, authorised signatories approve, management oversees; no single person can move a rupee alone, including us.

Every proposal, approval and rejection is recorded with the approver’s name, timestamp and IP address, and exports for your auditors on request.

How we make money

Companies pay nothing for Idlewise. Sigfyn, the AMFI-registered distributor behind it, earns a commission from the asset management companies on regular plans, disclosed to you as regulation requires. The incentive is simple: you keep cash deployed only if every payment lands on time, so this business depends on never missing one.

Your payment calendar runs it all

Salaries, GST, TDS, EPF, vendor cycles: statutory dates come pre-built, your team adds the rest once, and every sweep-out and sweep-in is scheduled around them.

Sweep in on any business day; the money is back in your account within three business days, usually sooner. Idlewise schedules every sweep-in ahead of the obligation, against fund cut-offs, settlement cycles and bank holidays. When anything is uncertain, cash stays in the bank. And the calendar never locks you in: your team moves money between your bank account and your funds whenever it chooses, on its own instruction. Total control, complete flexibility.

Operating liquidity

Liquid mutual funds only. Your money sweeps back in within three business days or sooner, scheduled entirely around your obligation calendar. Managed by your finance team.

Strategic surplus

Cash idle beyond a quarter can move to conservative, pre-agreed baskets with materially better after-tax treatment. Each movement individually sanctioned by management; nothing is automatic.

Questions boards ask

Who holds the investments?+
Your company does. Your units are held in your company's own folio, in your company's name.
What happens if Idlewise shuts down tomorrow?+
If Idlewise were discontinued tomorrow, nothing would happen to your money. Your folios live at the fund houses and their registrars, not with us. You would redeem directly with the fund house, or through any other distributor, exactly as you could today.
How quickly can we get the money back?+
Sweep in on any business day; the money is back in your account within three business days, usually sooner. Idlewise schedules every sweep-in ahead of the obligation, against fund cut-offs, settlement cycles and bank holidays.
What does Idlewise cost?+
Companies pay nothing for Idlewise. Sigfyn, the AMFI-registered distributor behind it, earns a commission from the asset management companies on regular plans, disclosed to you as regulation requires. The incentive is simple: you keep cash deployed only if every payment lands on time, so this business depends on never missing one.
Can one person move money out?+
No. Every order is approved by your signatories through the approval matrix your board defines before it reaches a fund house, and redemptions settle only into your registered bank account.
Which companies can onboard, and what does onboarding need?+
Private and public limited companies and LLPs with authorised signatories. Onboarding sets up your company’s investment account and approval matrix; part of the paperwork is physical, and we run it with you. Timelines are shared during the walkthrough.

Currently onboarding a founding cohort

Idlewise is live with its first entities. We are opening to a limited group of companies whose leadership wants idle cash on the bottom line, governed properly.

Walkthroughs, onboarding and the first monthly cycle are run with the founding team directly.
